The company has gradually established itself as a recognized leader, thanks to its creative and accessible product lines, which cover a variety of themes, including humor, first names, animals, and seasonal highlights.

As a true pure player in this market segment, the company is driven by a constant commitment for innovation. Editions du Tonnerre continually develops new collections to bring new energy to retail locations within its network of approximately 2,000 B2B partners.

Backed by a healthy balance sheet and streamlined management, the company, which generates approximately €10 million in annual revenue and a comfortable EBITDA margin, offers solid and sustainable growth prospects.

The long-standing shareholders sought to align the company with a larger player in order (i) to expand into new distribution channels and (ii) to continue its international expansion, which had already begun in Belgium and Switzerland.

ATOUT CAPITAL advised the shareholders of EDITIONS DU TONNERRE on its sale to N PROXIMITE Group, a leading player in the local retail sector in France, combining the expertise of the NAP and NEODIS groups. Through its Maison de la Presse and Point Plus brands, the group operates a network of 1,150 retail locations serving 800,000 customers every day.

 

The acquisition of EDITIONS DU TONNERRE thus enables the N PROXIMITE Group to expand its range of gift and seasonal products within its distribution network. The transaction thereby strengthens the N PROXIMITE Group’s value proposition for its retail partners, while consolidating its position as the leading platform for cultural and local retail.
